Restaurant: Red Fork – 12th Main, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, IN.
It was my mom’s birthday and we wanted to try a new restaurant and new cuisine. From known sources we had heard about Red Fork, a bistro serving Parsee and contemporary food. This instantly came to mind and we planned for the dinner visit.
Red Fork is a bistro serving Parsee favourties and along with them are Burgers, Salads, Quick Bites, Desserts and more. Lead by Chef Xerxes, Zarine and Sneha (The Red Fork Family), a team of enthusiastic people provide good hospitality.
As the concept says, it has a blackboard based place. Menu and other creatives are put up on the blackboards. The interior is on Beige and Red combination, having elegant and comfortable seating. The place is a converted house and it goes well with the arrangement providing good options to choose your place of dining (if you are lucky to find your choice place 😀 as this place is usually filled).
Our order for the evening:
Pea Cutlet Pav: Chickpea cutlet and Pav (3nos. each) were served with Mint chutney and Avakai thokku kind of spicy add on. The pav was good and cutlets were rich in terms of pea used. This is one of the best Share Eats on their menu.
The Grain Trails: This was a colourful item. It is made up of Sabudana (Sago) and dressed with Wheat puffs, Pomegranate and fried Sago. Though I’m not a sago person, I liked this sweet dish. Had a tough time breaking the presentation 😛
Onion Ring Salad: Fried Onion rings were stuffed with Mesculin, Herbs and Parmesan with a Lemon Vinaigrette.
All the above are Share Eats and not for Single serve.
Veg Dhansak: A typical Parsee Rice and Dal combo. Brown rice with thick dal is served along with spiced Potato Kababs and Kachumber. this is one of my fav Hearty Eats now.
Dark Chocolate Delight: 3 scoops of frozen Dark Chocolate Mousse dressed with Pistachios, Berry Syrup and Tuile. Its a must have dessert here.
Cardomom Cake: A pan seared cake accompanied with Saffron Anglaise and Pistachios, topped with dehydrated sweetened Orange peel. I loved the rich saffron anglaise with the mild cardomom flavour of the cake.
It was definitely an evening and experience to cherish. This place is on my list for next visit to try their wide range of desserts and the Pea Cutlet Pav. Unfortunately, during our visit, the bar was not available due to delayed excise process.
