Place of Honesty: Onestá

Restaurant: Onestá – New BEL Road, Bengaluru, IN.

It was a Wednesday evening when we friends wanted to go out and this place was selected (primarily I didn’t even know they had a restaurant in this location). Having heard a lot about Onesta, we headed without second thoughts.

A bright restaurant positioned on the 2nd floor, above a popular Burger chain, this has an outdoor and indoor seating. We preferred outdoors as lot of plants and tree view was there. The color concept of the interiors being catchy red and clean white. The place is well lit. The restaurant has an open pizza kitchen, an indoor dessert counter and a closed kitchen.

Orders for the evening:

Before our orders came, we opted for Cheese sticks. It was ok ok, as cheese was very dry making the bread less lubricating to chew.

Herbed Wedges: The potatoes were well cooked and fried and went well with paprika mayo. Though salt was on higher note making us enjoy it less.

Bruschettas were not available. Neither was Mushroom in any of their items. 😦

Orange Mint Cooler: It was a great drink with good mix of orange and mint flavours. Personally, I would prefer more concentration of orange, while my friends loved it.

Green Apple Cooler: After tasting this, I wished I had ordered this 😀 This was a perfect drink 🙂 Green apple with fizz and lime was a refreshing beverage.

Farmhouse Special Pizza (without mushrooms): A mouthwatering item served well on wooden pan. It had baby corn, bell peppers, black olives, onions.

Mexican Veg Delight: This was the best pizza had for the evening. Tabasco sauce with tomatoes, red chillies, capsicum, onions was delicious.

Spinach & Paneer Pizza: This was a new combination I have tried for a topping and I liked it. It had grated paneer with whole spinach leaves along with cheese and tomato sauce. The spinach was very salty. Guess new concentrated salt variant was used and chefs weren’t used to it.

Cream Roasted Veggies Pizza: This was a mild flavoured pizza made up of veggies marinated in cream and cheese.

Mixed Vegetable Lasagne: The presentation was good and the 1st bite took us by a surprise. The veggies (mostly beans) tasted so similar to Iyengar baker puff’s stuffing. 😀 The lasagna sheets were good, but the stuffing let it down. Expected more from Onesta :/

Each restaurant has it’s ups and downs. Will visit them again for other pizzas and desserts. Hope they would have the mushrooms stocked up.
